A wise teacher once told me “Widen your horizons, read books.” So I decided to read, reread, and read some more. I am usually engrossed in two to three books at the same time that leads to my passion to write.

My passion for writing awakens in journals. Years ago, I began with a diary that my brothers tried to open and read. But my diary had a key that I kept hidden. Fast forward years later, my journals have  turned into blog posts, and other times they are thoughts just between me and God. My experience with breast cancer a few years ago forced me to consistently journal through the process of healing. Those late night writings bring back precious times of devotion with the Lord.

I currently work as a Discipleship Supervisor, Bible Teacher, Mentor, and Prayer Coordinator for Forgotten Children Inc. at Rachel’s House of Healing Residential Home for women who have been trafficked into prostitution. I am an Air Force Veteran and a PTSD survivor. I am trained as a Trauma Healing Facilitator through The Trauma Healing Institute.

I am a Bible Teacher contributor to Called to Leadership Prayer Line. My writings have been featured in the books Pandemic Devotionals: How the World Overcame Fear with Faith, and Rescue: A Homeschool Mom’s Devotional. I’ve also written an article  7 Uplifting Prayers for Veterans on Prayforeverything.com

Let’s begin journaling. Grab a pen and paper. Set aside a few moments for God to speak to you as you pour out your heart to Him.
